In 1868, Henry K Webster rented a small grist mill in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and started the H.K. Webster Company, a business that would grow into one of the largest feed manufacturing companies in the Northeast, Blue Seal Feeds, Inc.

In the early days, the emphasis of the business was on supplying horse feed. That product line has grown to include feeds for a variety of animals including pets.

Blue Seal products are distributed by independent retailers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States.
